NCF Announces Players for Inaugural Nigeria Super League

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has announced the drafting of players for the first-ever Nigeria Super League, which will take place from May 16 to May 30 in Lagos. NCF President Uyi Akpata stated that this elite league will become a staple in Nigeria's cricket calendar following a complete year of club cricket.

The league will consist of six teams representing different regions of the country: Central Eagles, Eastern Elephants, Middle Belt Tigers, Northern Lions, Southern Sharks, and Western Dolphins. Each team will comprise 14 players, including 12 elite players and 2 players from the national age-grade team.

The teams will be led by notable captains: Peter Aho for Central Eagles, Taiwo Moham for Eastern Elephants, Sulaimon Runsew for Middle Belt Tigers, Sylvest Okp for Northern Lions, Isaac Okp for Southern Sharks, and Vincent Adewoy for Western Dolphins. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals, culminating in a final match on Saturday, May 30.
