Nigeria Cricket Federation Launches Inaugural Super League

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has officially unveiled the franchise squads for the historic Nigeria Super League (NSL), set to take place from May 16 to May 31, 2026. NCF President Mr.

Uyi Akpata described the NSL as a bold step towards raising the standards of domestic cricket in Nigeria. The league is designed to create a high-performance environment for cricket, providing a clear pathway for grassroots development and international representation.

For the first time, Nigeria's top cricket talent will compete in a professional franchise structure, combining elite competition with player development and fan engagement. The tournament will feature six competitive franchises, each led by experienced captains and supported by accomplished coaches.

The matches will follow a round-robin format, with morning sessions starting at 9:30 AM and afternoon sessions at 1:00 PM, running until May 27, 2026, before progressing to the knockout stage and culminating in a grand final on May 30, 2026.
