Nigeria Women’s Cricket Team Faces Rwanda in 2026 T20i

The Nigeria female national cricket team will renew its rivalry with Rwanda during the 2026 Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) T20i tournament at Tafawa Balewa Square Oval on Tuesday. This match is part of the Patricia Kambarami Cup, where Rwanda currently leads the points table with six points from three wins.

Nigeria has won two games so far in the tournament. The team's current coach, Theophilus Ibodem, is keeping tactical strategies close to his chest, stating that the game plan will adapt accordingly.

Ibodem aims for Nigeria to score at least 150 runs to defend against Rwanda, which they will face for the 27th time since their first meeting in 2019. Historically, Rwanda has won 13 of the previous encounters, while Nigeria has won 12.

Nigeria last claimed victory in the NCF women's T20i in 2023, defeating Rwanda by nine runs. The female yellow-green team began their campaign with an eight-wicket victory over Zimbabwe and a 136-run win against Ghana, showcasing impressive performances from debutants Henrietta Mbam and Favor Effiong.
