Winners Announced at National U-17 Cricket Qualifiers

The National U-17 zonal qualifiers for the Nigeria Cricket Federation's championship took place simultaneously at the MKO Abiola Sport Arena in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Owerri, Imo State. In the female category, Lagos State emerged as the winner, followed by Ogun State in second place and Ekiti State in third.

In the male category, Lagos State also topped the standings, with Oyo State in second and Ogun State in third. From the South East zone, Ebonyi State won the female category, with Anambra State and Abia State finishing second and third, respectively.

In the male category, Imo State took the top spot, while Ebonyi State and Anambra State finished second and third. The qualifiers will continue across four zones, with matches scheduled in Kaduna and Adamawa for the North West zone, and Edo State for the South South zone, running until March 1.

The tournament serves as a platform to identify the next generation of national team players, with 36 states expected to represent their respective zones.
