CSDC Backs Nigeria-U.S. Military Collaboration Efforts

The Coalition for Security and Defence Cooperation (CSDC) has expressed its support for the Nigerian government's decision to deepen military collaboration with the United States. In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the CSDC underscored that Nigeria's sovereignty remains fully intact amidst this partnership.

The coalition described the arrangement as a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Nigeria's fight against terrorism and transnational crime. CSDC Secretary Abdulmajid Danladi emphasized that the Nigerian Armed Forces maintain full operational control over security activities within the territory, even while cooperating with foreign partners.

The coalition commended the leadership of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyed, for their forward-looking decision to align Nigeria's long-standing diplomatic and security relations with the U.S. The statement clarified that the presence of U.S. military personnel does not equate to foreign control and urged the Nigerian government to prioritize national interests over partisan politics in defense partnerships.
