IADI Clears DMO of Allegations on Staff Welfare Spending

The Integrity Advocacy for Development Initiative (IADI) has exonerated the Debt Management Office (DMO) concerning allegations of inappropriate spending on staff refreshments and welfare items. In a statement released on Wednesday, signed by its executive director, Comrade Ofomhi Osizemhete Christopher, IADI clarified that it sought direct clarification from the DMO before taking any public stance.

The DMO confirmed that the expenditures were not for the personal benefit of the Director General or any individual official but were legitimate office-wide expenses benefiting all staff members. The DMO also stated that the Director General had no interest in the vendors involved in the procurement process.

IADI decided against participating in any protests or public actions against the DMO, considering the clarification satisfactory. The organization emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions and noted that allegations of impropriety must be supported by verifiable facts rather than speculation.
