Ojude-Oba Festival 2026 Celebrates Culture and Unity

The 2026 Ojude-Oba festival transformed Ijebu Ode into a vibrant celebration of culture, heritage, and unity. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun described the festival as a powerful symbol of peace and coexistence, aligning with his administration's tourism development agenda.

The festival attracted visitors, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts, showcasing traditional fashion and music. This year's event held particular significance as it was the first celebration following the passing of the revered monarch, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, whose 65-year reign significantly impacted traditional leadership in Nigeria.

Governor Abiodun praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the people of Ijebu during this transitional period. The festival also aimed to preserve the authentic heritage of the Ijebu people while fostering economic opportunities.

Chairman of the Ojude-Oba planning committee, Chief Olu Okubadejo, emphasized the festival's role in reconnecting the Ijebu diaspora with their roots and promoting cultural pride.
