Ojude Oba Festival Celebrates Culture and Economic Growth

Ladi Balogun, the Group Chief Executive of FCMB Group, described the Ojude Oba Festival as a significant driver of cultural celebration and economic enterprise. The festival, held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Ijebu Ode, highlighted the rich cultural values of the Ijebu people and the Yoruba heritage.

The event featured a grand parade showcasing traditional attire, singing, and dancing, with participation from various celebrities, including Nollywood stars such as Eniola Badmus and Adeniyi Johnson. Balogun emphasized FCMB's commitment as a long-standing partner of the festival for 20 years, supporting the preservation of heritage and the creation of sustainable opportunities for community growth.

The 2026 festival was particularly significant as it honored the legacy of the late Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the paramount ruler of Ijebuland, who passed away in 2025.

Balogun acknowledged the leadership of Olorogun Dr. Sonni Folorunsho Kuku during this transitional period for the Ijebu traditional institution.
