NUPRC Confirms 1.9mbpd Production Capacity in Nigeria

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) stated that Nigeria's current infrastructure can support a production capacity of 1.9 million barrels per day, with a peak production of 1.86 million barrels per day reported in May. Chief Executive Mr.

Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan made this announcement during a visit to the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS). He acknowledged the constraints within the sector, particularly regarding infrastructure and human capacity, which hinder growth.

Eyesan expressed a commitment to deepen collaboration with the NRS to promote transparency and accountability in oil and gas revenue collection. He emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for the oil and gas industry to thrive, ensuring that all stakeholders benefit from increased production.

Dr. Zacch Adedeji, chairman of the NRS, praised the commission's efforts and pledged continued support to enhance revenue collection in a fair and transparent manner.
