Nigeria Customs Launches Digital Platform to Combat Vehicle Smuggling

The Nigeria Customs Service introduced a digital verification platform to tackle vehicle smuggling and improve transparency in the import process. The system, called Custom Verification Management (CVM), aims to reduce smuggling, enhance revenue collection, and streamline operations.

Adewale Adeniyi, a Customs official, highlighted the platform's role in modernizing procedures, promoting data-driven operations, and increasing revenue. The initiative seeks to close loopholes in vehicle clearance processes, combat fraud, and improve efficiency through innovative technology solutions.
