Nigeria Customs Service Announces 2024/2025 Recruitment Results

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has unveiled the final list of 3,852 successful candidates from its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise and announced that recruitment will now occur annually, beginning with the 2026 exercise. The Comptroller-General of Customs disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, emphasizing the rigorous nature of the recruitment due to the high volume of applications and extensive verification processes.

The successful candidates include 1,275 in the Superintendent Cadre, 367 in the Inspectorate Cadre, and 2,210 in the Customs Assistant Cadre. The recruitment process involved multiple stages, including application screening, computer-based testing, and credential verification through the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) database.

The Comptroller-General apologized for delays, noting that the Service processed 573,680 applications, resulting in a success rate of 0.67 percent. The recruitment complied with the Federal Character principle, ensuring representation from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with 839 women (21.8 percent) among the successful candidates.
