Nigeria Customs Service Announces Annual Recruitment Cycle

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has adopted an annual recruitment cycle, as announced by the Comptroller-General (CG) Adeniyi during a press conference at the Service’s Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. The final list of 3,852 successful candidates for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise was released, concluding a nationwide process that began in December 2024.

The CG stated that recruitment would now be a predictable yearly process, with the next exercise for 2026 set to commence later this year. The NCS received an unprecedented 573,680 applications for the available positions, which included 1,275 for the Superintendent Cadre, 367 for the Inspectorate Cadre, and 2,210 for the Customs Assistant Cadre.

All candidates underwent multiple screening stages, including computer-based examinations and verification against the national identity database. Adeniyi emphasized that the integrity of the recruitment process was upheld, with representation from every state and the Federal Character principle applied.

He urged successful candidates to await further communication regarding physical and medical screenings and warned against fraudsters soliciting payments for employment.
