Salim Fago Lawal, a member of the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scored the opening goal for Viktoria Plzeň in their 3-0 victory against Hradec Králové in a Czech First Division match. This goal, which came just before halftime, was significant as it marked the end of Viktoria Plzeň's five-game winless streak across all competitions.

The 23-year-old striker's second goal for the team followed his arrival from the Croatian club NK Istra in January. With this win, Martin Hysk's side moved up to third place in the league standings, accumulating 45 points from 25 matches.
