Daga Sentenced to Six Months for Sexual Assault

Daga, a 19-year-old Nigerian football player, has been sentenced to six months in prison for sexual assault after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The verdict was announced on Tuesday afternoon, with Daga also ordered to pay 10,000 Norwegian kroner in legal costs.

His lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, expressed deep disappointment with the outcome, maintaining Daga's innocence and stating that they intend to challenge the ruling, which is not yet legally binding. Mold Football Club confirmed that Daga will not be included in the matchday squad during the ongoing legal process, emphasizing their responsibility to care for their employees.

Daga joined Mold ahead of the 2025 season and has made 15 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. He previously played for Enyimba in the Nigeria Premier Football League and represented Nigeria's U-20 team at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
