Dangote Cement Expands Green Logistics with CNG Trucks

Dangote Cement Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable business practices and environmental stewardship across Africa. The company is focusing on reducing its environmental impact, improving energy efficiency, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting local communities.

As part of its green logistics agenda, Dangote Cement is acquiring an additional 1,500 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks to lower greenhouse gas emissions and improve operational efficiency. The company has achieved significant progress in its environmental performance, earning a “B” rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for its climate and water management initiatives.

Energy optimisation is a key pillar of its sustainability strategy, contributing to lower production costs and a reduced carbon footprint. Arvind Pathak, Group Managing Director/CEO of Dangote Cement Plc, stated that sustainability is embedded in the company's operations and growth strategy, aiming to create lasting value for shareholders while supporting a sustainable future for Africa.
