Dangote Calls for Probe into $5M Payment by NMDPRA Boss for Children's School Fees Abroad

Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, has demanded a probe into Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), for allegedly paying $5 million for his children's school fees in Switzerland. Dangote raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest and improper financial conduct, urging authorities, including the Code of Conduct Bureau, to investigate.

The allegations have sparked criticism of Ahmed's leadership at NMDPRA, with accusations of favoring fuel imports over local refining. Dangote warns that allowing commercial interests to influence regulations could weaken the downstream petroleum sector.
