Dangote, Ethiopia to Build $2.5bn Fertilizer Plant; Targets 3mmt Production Annually

Dangote Group and Ethiopia are set to construct a $2.5 billion fertilizer plant, aiming to produce three million metric tons annually. The partnership involves EIH holding a 40% equity stake, with Dangote Group retaining 60% ownership.

This project marks a significant industrial investment in Ethiopia, establishing one of the world's largest urea fertilizer production complexes. The agreement includes the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant and associated infrastructure.

The project is designed to serve both domestic and regional markets, enhancing Ethiopia's position as a regional fertilizer production hub. The comprehensive development plan also allows for potential expansion and upgrades in the future.
