The Dangote Group has strongly denied viral claims suggesting a rift between its president, Aliko Dangote, and fellow businessman Tony Elumelu. In a statement issued by the group's Chief Brand Communications Officer, Anthoni Chiejina, the company described the reports as false and misleading.

The rumors included allegations that Dangote sought financial assistance from prominent associates for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery project, with claims that Elumelu pledged $20 million but later ceased communication. The Dangote Group categorically rejected these claims, asserting that neither Dangote nor the company made any such statements.

The group emphasized that the allegations were a deliberate misrepresentation of facts and challenged anyone making such claims to provide verifiable evidence. Furthermore, it was stated that Aliko Dangote and Tony Elumelu maintain a long-standing cordial relationship, and the company warned against the spread of unverifiable claims intended to mislead the public.
