Dangote Forecasts Naira Strengthening to 1,000 Naira per Dollar

Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Group, expressed optimism regarding the Nigerian Naira's performance, predicting it will strengthen to 1,000 Naira per US Dollar by the end of the year. Speaking at the launch of Nigeria's industrial policy in Abuja, he noted that recent economic reforms by the Federal Government are beginning to yield positive results, particularly in the manufacturing sector.

Dangote highlighted that the current exchange rate is around 1,300 Naira per Dollar and urged the government to provide stronger protections for local investors and improve infrastructure, especially in electricity, which he described as a major constraint for businesses. He emphasized that the new industrial policy is a step in the right direction to support manufacturing and drive job creation and economic growth.

Dangote also mentioned that his company alone paid 900 billion Naira in taxes in 2025, underscoring the significant contributions of major industrial players to national development.
