Dangote Refinery Increases PMS Supply to 40.1 Million Liters

As of January 2026, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has significantly boosted Nigeria's domestic fuel supply by delivering an average of 40.1 million liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, according to data released by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). This figure represents an increase of 8 million liters per day compared to the 32 million liters recorded in December 2025.

The refinery's output is part of its strategy to cover a larger share of the nation's fuel demand, complementing domestic supply as imports continue. Nigeria's domestic supply benchmark for PMS stands at 75 million liters per day, with Dangote Refinery contributing a substantial portion.

The refinery, located in Lekki Free Zone, Lagos, is designed to process 650,000 barrels per day and is the largest single-train refinery globally. This operational milestone is expected to strengthen Nigeria's downstream petroleum sector and reduce import demand, as highlighted by prominent investor Femi Otedola.
