Dangote Refinery Signs Deal for 65 Million Litres Daily

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has finalized an offtake agreement with 12 major petroleum market companies to distribute 65 million litres of premium motor spirit (petrol) daily across Nigeria. This move is anticipated to stabilize fuel supply and mitigate price volatility in the market.

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, disclosed this agreement in Lagos, emphasizing a structured framework to ensure nationwide availability of petrol and export surplus volumes. The refinery is projected to supply between 1.8 billion to 2 billion litres of petrol monthly, with an estimated surplus of 15 to 20 million litres earmarked for export.

This agreement follows a previous arrangement reached in October 2025 and aims to curb supply disruptions and rising costs. The Nigerian midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authority will oversee the nationwide distribution, which includes companies like TotalEnergies and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

The refinery's operations are expected to transform Nigeria's energy security and reduce reliance on fuel imports.
