Dangote Refinery Exports PMS to Five African Nations

Dangote Refinery has confirmed the export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) cargoes to five African countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Tanzania, Ghana, and Togo. This development was reported in a statement on Sunday, following a Bloomberg report that highlighted the growing trend of African nations turning to Nigeria's Dangote Refinery as a primary alternative fuel source.

The refinery, which has a daily capacity of 650,000 barrels, is positioned to meet not only Nigeria's domestic fuel demand but also to supply high-quality Euro 5 gasoline and diesel to the West African region. This move comes in response to ongoing conflicts involving Iran that have disrupted supply chains in the Middle East.

The statement underscores the refinery's capability to provide superior fuel quality, addressing the historical issue of the region being a dumping ground for lower-quality fuel.
