Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices to ₦1,325 in 2026

As of September 21, 2026, Dangote Refinery has significantly lowered its gantry price for Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦1,325 per litre, creating a price gap of ₦40 compared to the estimated import parity price of ₦1,364.02 to ₦1,365.02 per litre. This reduction follows a previous price of ₦1,350 per litre on September 17, 2026.

The landing cost of petrol had reached approximately ₦1,420 per litre on September 14 before declining to around ₦1,365. Additionally, the gantry price for Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) is ₦1,850 per litre, while the estimated spot landed cost is ₦1,933.56.

The price advantage has resulted in increased lifting of petroleum products from the refinery, with significant movements recorded across Nigeria's coastal supply chain. The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) reported that the seven-day average import parity price for petrol was ₦1,371.92 per litre, indicating that imported petrol is more expensive than locally refined products.
