Dangote Refinery Exports N757bn Jet Fuel to Europe

In June 2026, Dangote Refinery achieved a record export of 466,000 metric tons of jet fuel to Europe, valued at N757 billion, surpassing shipments from the United States. This milestone represents Nigeria's highest monthly jet fuel export, following a notable increase from 232,000 metric tons in May.

The June shipment equates to approximately 582.5 million liters of aviation fuel, with domestic market prices at N1,300 per liter. The rise in Nigerian jet fuel exports coincides with a decline in U.S. exports, which fell from 818,000 metric tons in April to 399,000 metric tons in June.

Market analysts attribute Nigeria's emergence as a larger supplier to oversupply in Europe and high local refinery production. The Nigerian midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authority (NMDPRA) reported that Dangote Refinery exported about 1.66 billion liters of refined petroleum products in April 2026, including significant volumes of petrol and diesel, reinforcing Nigeria's position as a major exporter in the global market.
