Dangote Refinery Becomes Europe's Top Jet Fuel Supplier

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has solidified its position as a significant player in the global aviation fuel market by becoming Europe’s largest jet fuel supplier for the second consecutive month, overtaking the United States. In July, the refinery delivered over 400,000 tonnes of jet fuel to Europe, representing approximately 20% of the continent's total imports for that month.

This follows a record export of 466,000 tonnes in June, marking Nigeria's first time displacing the U.S. as the leading supplier. The total jet fuel imported by Europe in July was around 2.06 million tonnes, with Dangote accounting for the largest share, ahead of traditional suppliers from the U.S. and the Middle East.

David Bird, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, stated that the refinery is also expanding exports of diesel, gasoline, and other refined petroleum products, further enhancing Nigeria's status as a net exporter of high-value petroleum products.
