Dangote Refinery Postpones Nationwide Fuel Supply: IPMAN Explains Delay, Assures Cheaper Pump Prices

The Dangote Refinery has postponed its planned nationwide fuel distribution, originally set for August 15, 2025. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) cited ongoing truck numbering registration as the reason for the delay, assuring that the refinery would soon begin operations.

IPMAN's national President, Abubakar Maigandi, mentioned that the mega refinery could start supplying petrol and diesel directly by Friday, August 15, 2025. The association urged patience from marketers and consumers, promising cheaper pump prices by eliminating middlemen and reducing logistics costs.

Dangote Refinery has invested N720 billion in acquiring trucks to support the Nigerian government's Decade Gas policy for efficient product delivery. While some industry players have expressed concerns about the distribution plan, financial analysts have differing opinions, with some hailing it as revolutionary.

IPMAN has asked stakeholders to remain patient as they await the refinery's distribution to ease fuel prices.
