Steady Petrol Supply, Stable Prices Ahead as Dangote Receives 4,000 CNG Trucks

Dangote Petroleum Refinery Petrochemical Limited has received 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks for its nationwide fuel distribution program, aiming to improve supply efficiency and reduce logistics costs. The trucks represent a significant capital investment of an estimated N720 billion, demonstrating the company's commitment to innovative solutions in the petroleum sector.

The deployment of CNG trucks is projected to save Nigerians billions annually in fuel distribution costs and stimulate economic growth by reducing production expenses and creating direct jobs. The initiative is part of Dangote's broader commitment to enhancing energy efficiency, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting Nigeria's economic development.

The move comes amid concerns about stable pricing and a potential pricing war in the downstream petroleum sector, with data showing a high percentage of petrol consumption being met through imports. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has also increased the price of petrol to N850 per litre, with retail partners raising prices to N915 in Lagos and Abuja.
