Dangote Refinery's PMS Supply Drops 21% in July 2026

In July 2026, Dangote Petrochemical Refinery's supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the local market fell by 21% to 25.8 million litres per day, according to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA). The refinery produced 25.9 million litres of PMS daily and exported 3.4 million litres per day.

This supply figure represents the lowest level for the refinery in 2026, compared to 32.5 million litres supplied per day in June. Additionally, PMS importation increased by 9% to 19.7 million barrels per day from 18.1 million litres in June.

The report indicated that PMS consumption also declined to 35.7 million litres per day from 47.4 million litres in June. Local refiners received 12.75 million barrels of crude oil during July and imported 5.13 million barrels, with an allocation of 585,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

Notably, all three refineries owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) were shut down during this period and did not produce any petroleum products.
