Minister Stresses Data Integrity for Nigeria's Digital Economy Success

Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, highlighted the critical role of data integrity in ensuring the success of Nigeria's digital economy during a press conference in Abuja. He stressed that trust in citizens and data integration are key factors for the digital economy's prosperity. The theme of the 4th edition of the Global Privacy Day and National Privacy Week focused on privacy in the era of emerging technologies, emphasizing trust, ethics, and innovation.

Dr. Tijani emphasized that the success of Nigeria's digital economy hinges on trust, not just infrastructure and talent. The NDPC, led by Dr. Vincent Olatunji, aims to instill trust and protect personal data in Nigeria. The NDPC has allocated N7 billion over the last two years for its operations and enforcement activities, including publishing lists of non-compliant organizations. The Commission is set to publish a list of non-compliant educational institutions soon.
