Davido Supports Music Infrastructure at Babcock University

Afrobeat superstar Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, visited Babcock University in Ilisan Remo, Ogun State, where he pledged support for expanding the music creative infrastructure. He described the creative industry as the "new oil" of Nigeria and expressed his readiness to give back to his alma mater by helping to develop a world-class music department with standard recording studio facilities for students.

During his visit, which marked his return 11 years after graduation, Davido reflected on his time at the university and emphasized the importance of education in the entertainment industry. He encouraged students to believe in themselves and remain disciplined in mastering their crafts.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Afolarin Olutund, acknowledged Davido's significant contributions to the university and announced plans to establish the David Adeleke School of Music in his honor.

The music department's development was attributed to Davido's influence and support, which included contributions from the Adelek family.
