PDP, ADC Members Defect to APC in Ogun State Carnival

On Friday, the Oba Adetona Pavilion in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, was filled with thousands of supporters as prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Dapo Abiodun welcomed the new members, expressing joy at their decision to join the APC, which he claimed is now the preferred political platform in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.

Abiodun emphasized his administration's achievements since 2019, including the construction of over 100 roads in Ogun East, the Gateway International Airport, and the Olokola Deep Sea Port. He announced the upcoming reconstruction of the Ago-Iwoye–Ibadan Road, supported by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and additional road projects.

Abiodun expressed confidence that the South-West would support Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027 due to his administration's accomplishments. Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, attributed the influx of defectors to the performance of Abiodun's administration.
