Dayo Adedayo: Preserving Nigeria's Cultural Heritage Through Photography

Dayo Adedayo is a Nigerian photographer dedicated to documenting the cultural landscape of Nigeria. He began his formal training in photography in 2003 at Westminster College and later at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.

Adedayo's work reflects his passion for preserving the intricate cultural narratives of Nigeria, which he believes are often poorly documented. He emphasizes the importance of self-representation, stating that if Nigerians do not document their own experiences, others will misrepresent them.

His journey includes photographing all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, capturing the evolving landscapes, rituals, and daily life. Adedayo's photographs serve as a visual archive of the nation, showcasing its complexities and the rapid changes it undergoes.
