HLS International Enhances Nigeria's Maritime Security Efforts

The Deep Blue Project is expanding its maritime surveillance and intelligence capabilities to address illegal fishing, cargo violations, and other unlawful activities in Nigerian waters. Tal Spector, Chief Executive Officer of HLS International, announced this initiative during an international exhibition where new security technologies were showcased.
The project, operated by HLS International in partnership with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), is supervised by the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and collaborates with the Ministry of Defence. Spector emphasized that the project not only targets piracy and arms trafficking but also monitors vessel movements, cargo activities, and environmental violations.
He noted that these illegal activities impact government revenue and the livelihoods of coastal communities. The project’s Command and Control Centre can track vessels entering Nigeria's Exclusive Economic Zone, providing vital intelligence on vessel identities and movements, including those that disable their Automatic Identification System transponders.
