Bagudu Urges Federal Appointees to Communicate Reforms

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, called on federal appointees to deepen their understanding of the Tinubu administration's policies and reforms during his keynote address at the Federal Appointees Strategic Summit. He emphasized the need to effectively communicate the impact of these reforms, particularly to grassroots Nigerians.

Bagudu reviewed the administration's economic reforms, including the removal of the fuel subsidy and the reform of the foreign exchange market, which were implemented amid significant global economic challenges. He acknowledged that these reforms, along with external pressures, have exacerbated cost-of-living issues but reaffirmed the administration's commitment to achieving long-term stability and inclusive growth.

He stated that the reforms have improved the fiscal positions of federal, state, and local governments, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's vision for fiscal federalism. Bagudu also mentioned efforts to settle outstanding obligations to states, which have allowed them to invest more in infrastructure, education, and security.
