Defence Headquarters Mourns Abducted General Abubakar

The Defence Headquarters has mourned the death of Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was previously abducted. In a statement, Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, conveyed the deepest sympathies of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to Abubakar's family and colleagues.

Major General Abubakar served the nation with distinction and held various appointments, including spokesperson for different military formations. His immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations and professional development within the AFN were acknowledged, emphasizing his outstanding impact and commitment to duty.

The Defence Headquarters withheld public comments regarding the abduction to defer to ongoing rescue efforts, deploying every operational resource in hopes of securing a safe return. The statement also addressed the serious issue of abductions across Nigeria, including that of Major General Abubakar, and indicated that operations would further intensify to bring justice and dismantle terrorist networks threatening the nation.
