U.S. Soldiers in Nigeria: Defence Minister Confirms Mission

The Defence Minister, Musa, confirmed the presence of American military forces in Nigeria, specifically authorized by the federal government to provide training and technological support. This collaboration is part of efforts to combat terrorism and banditry, particularly in Bauchi State.

Musa emphasized that the U.S. soldiers are working alongside their Nigerian counterparts and that their presence is based on a clear agreement, indicating a short-term arrangement. He reassured that Nigeria's sovereignty is not threatened by this collaboration with the United States, which is not a new phenomenon, as the country has previously engaged with nations like Liberia and Tanzania.
