Defence Minister Denies Resignation Rumors Amid Security Gains

On Tuesday, Defence Minister General Christopher Musa addressed rumors regarding his potential resignation from President Bola Tinubu's cabinet, labeling them as false. After a meeting with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, Musa expressed his surprise at the speculation, asserting he has no plans to leave his position.

He indicated that he would consider legal action against those responsible for the rumors, stating, “I don’t know where that came from.” Musa suggested that the rumors might stem from individuals uncomfortable with the administration's recent successes in addressing insecurity in Nigeria. He described his meeting with the President as a routine security briefing, noting that President Tinubu is pleased with the current security situation.

Musa expressed gratitude for the support from Nigerians in the fight against terrorism and banditry, emphasizing a collective societal approach to improving security.
