Defence Ministry Applauds Matawalle's Campaign Role

The Ministry of Defence has commended President Bola Tinubu's appointment of Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. This appointment, announced in a statement by Chief Information Officer Queeneth Iheoma-Hart, reflects Tinubu's acknowledgment of Matawalle's extensive experience in public service, security management, and political mobilization.

Matawalle's responsibilities will include overseeing the security architecture for campaign activities, conducting intelligence and risk assessments in collaboration with security agencies, and coordinating with traditional rulers and community leaders to enhance support for the campaign's security framework. The ministry highlighted Matawalle's previous contributions as Minister of State for Defence, where he supported the administration's security agenda.

In response, Matawalle expressed gratitude to Tinubu and the APC leadership, pledging to leverage his experience to ensure a successful campaign that promotes the achievements of the Renewed Hope Administration across Nigeria.
