Delta State Government Donates N10m to Support Cancer Treatment Initiative

The Delta State Government has contributed N10 million to support cancer treatment initiatives championed by Chineyenwa Judith Amadi, an Imo State-born cancer awareness advocate. The donation was presented at the conference hall of the State Government Secretariat in Asaba.

Dr. Kingsley Emu, representing the government, described cancer as a devastating disease that requires collective efforts to alleviate human suffering.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori personally supported the initiative, highlighting the government's commitment to combating cancer and supporting those in need. Dr.

Joseph Onojaem stressed the significance of prevention and early detection in reducing the risks associated with cancers like cervical and breast cancer. Amadi expressed gratitude for the support, aiming to raise funds to assist patients who cannot afford treatment, providing hope and encouragement in the fight against the disease.

The project also included health-related activities such as free medical outreach programs benefiting residents in Delta State.
