Delta Government Launches Peace Committee to End Warri Ethnic Hostilities

The Delta State Government inaugurated a peace committee in Warri to address ethnic hostilities and promote lasting harmony. The committee, consisting of representatives from the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic groups, was tasked with fostering peace in the region.

Hon. David Tonwe outlined the committee's objectives, emphasizing the need for unity and peaceful coexistence among the ethnic communities.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori mandated the committee to facilitate peace-building efforts and prevent further conflicts in Warri. Local leaders, including Chief Boro Pudu and Comrade Isaac Agbateyiniro, pledged their commitment to restoring peace in the area.

The initiative aimed to create a conducive environment for development and progress in Warri.
