Delta State Warns Job Seekers of Recruitment Scams

The Delta State Government has issued a warning to job seekers regarding fraudsters exploiting the ongoing recruitment of approximately 700 personnel into the Ministry of Health. Dr.

Joseph Onojaeme, the Commissioner for Health, raised the alarm in a disclaimer on Thursday, stating that scammers have been impersonating him on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. These fraudsters are using fake accounts and the WhatsApp number 07055502867 to falsely claim they are acting on his behalf, demanding payments for purported job appointments in the Delta State Civil Service and other government agencies.

Dr. Onojaeme categorically denied any association with the mentioned phone number and dismissed claims of his official line being hacked as a tactic to lend credibility to their fraudulent activities.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Health does not request or accept money for employment and that recruitment is conducted through transparent, merit-based government procedures. The commissioner urged the public to report any suspicious communications and assured that the Ministry is working with security agencies to identify and prosecute the scammers.
