Delta State Government Promises Justice for Civil Servant's Death

The Delta State Government has assured the family of Mr. Unity Adeda, a Level 16 civil servant in the Ministry of Secondary Education, that justice will be served following his death after an altercation at work. On Saturday, Dr. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, led a delegation of senior officials to express condolences to the family.

The delegation included Hon Johnson Erijo, the Chief of Staff to the Governor; Mr Lucky Nkemachor, Permanent Secretary of the SSG’s Office; Mrs Kevwe Agas, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Community Development; and Mr Lawson Efenudu, Executive Secretary of the State Pensions Bureau. Emu stated that the government is deeply concerned about the incident and emphasized that every life matters to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

While the police investigation is ongoing, preliminary accounts suggest that an internal workplace altercation escalated. Governor Oborevwori has directed the Commissioner of Police to ensure a thorough investigation, and an administrative panel of civil servants has been established to examine the circumstances and improve conflict-resolution mechanisms.
