Democracy Has Stabilised In Nigeria – NASS Clerk

The Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Barr Kamoru Ogunlana, stated that democracy in Nigeria has been fully stabilized, with the absence of military intervention threats and steady growth in legislative institutions over the past 26 years. The CNA made this assertion during the induction of 785 newly recruited staff in Abuja.

Ogunlana emphasized the importance of strengthening democratic governance, enabling the legislature to evolve into a professional and responsive institution. The recruitment of new staff across various grade levels in December last year was seen as a strategic move to enhance service delivery within the legislature.

Ogunlana highlighted the need for the new staff to be academically qualified, morally upright, and digitally literate to meet the evolving demands of modern legislative work. He reassured the staff of their welfare and encouraged them to view their appointment as a national calling.
