Uba Sani Compensates Demolition Victims with Land Plots

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has taken steps to compensate victims affected by a demolition exercise by providing them with land plots. On January 21, Dr.

Bashir Garba Ibrahim, the Director General of Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), presented land titles to the beneficiaries, marking a fulfillment of Governor Sani's promise to ensure justice for the victims. This initiative was a result of a stakeholder meeting aimed at investigating the circumstances surrounding the demolitions carried out by a previous administration.

Dr. Ibrahim advised the beneficiaries to develop their plots quickly and cautioned against reselling the land, emphasizing the importance of homeownership in contributing to the state's growth.

Alhaji Moham Auwal, the chairman of the former Malali low-cost residential area, expressed gratitude to Governor Sani for addressing their concerns after a nine-year struggle for compensation. The Kaduna State Government had previously issued quit notices to residents in October 2020, leading to the demolition of 80 structures in March 2021.
