Uba Sani Compensates Demolition Victims with Land Plots

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has initiated a compensation program for victims whose homes were demolished in Malali Low Cost, a decision stemming from a stakeholder meeting held on January 21. The demolitions occurred under the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, affecting 80 structures.

Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, the Director General of Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), presented land titles to the beneficiaries, emphasizing that this gesture fulfills Governor Sani's promise to ensure justice for the victims.

He advised the beneficiaries to develop their plots quickly and cautioned against reselling the land. Alhaji Moham Auwal, the chairman of the former Malali Low Cost residents, expressed gratitude towards Governor Sani for addressing their concerns after a nine-year struggle for compensation.

The Kaduna State Government had previously issued quit notices to residents, leading to protests and subsequent demolitions.
