Desmond Elliot Apologizes to Gbajabiamila for APC Dispute

Desmond Elliot, the lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in Lagos State, publicly apologized to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, for his behavior during the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election. During a meeting with Gbajabiamila and other party leaders, Elliot prostrated before Gbajabiamila, emphasizing his desire to reconcile with the APC leadership.

He expressed deep regret for his actions, stating, “I’m deeply sorry, sir,” and acknowledged that he might have been misguided during the political dispute. This apology follows a previous appeal for forgiveness made by Elliot on TVC’s Your View, where he referred to Gbajabiamila as his political mentor.

The reconciliation effort comes amid political tensions related to the Lagos State House of Assembly leadership crisis, which involved disagreements within the APC. Gbajabiamila had previously indicated that intelligence reports linked Elliot to the Assembly speakership tussle, an allegation Elliot denied.

His latest apology aims to mend ties with Gbajabiamila and restore confidence within the APC.
