Desperados Hosts Roadblock Event in Port Harcourt

Desperados has expanded its youth-focused experiential marketing initiatives with the Roadblock event held at the EUI Centre in Port Harcourt. The activation lasted eight hours and attracted thousands of attendees, marking a significant step in the brand's nationwide effort to engage Gen Z consumers through music and cultural experiences.

The Port Harcourt edition utilized the Afro-Electronic format and featured a lineup of DJs including DJ Spinall, DJ Big N, WannixHandi, DJ Chelar, DJ Ice Cue, DJ Kelvin Kelvin, and Deejay Kaydee. The event was characterized by an all-black and all-white dress code, immersive lighting, visual effects, and live performances.

Onyebuchi Allanhah, Senior Brand Manager for Desperados, stated that the event allowed the brand to connect with young people in a culturally vibrant city. Desperados is focusing on culture marketing as a growth strategy, opting for large-scale entertainment platforms over traditional advertising to enhance relevance in urban markets.

The brand plans to continue similar culture-driven activations in other cities.
