Osun PDP Lawmakers Endorse Adeleke for 2026 Election

On Saturday, during a meeting held in Osogbo, Osun State, lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026. This endorsement comes despite some lawmakers defecting to the Accord Party.

The communiqué, signed by Senator Lere Oyewumi, Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate Caucus, reaffirmed support for Adeleke's leadership, highlighting his achievements in infrastructure development, worker welfare, healthcare, and education. The lawmakers noted the financial constraints arising from local government crises but commended Adeleke's prioritization of worker welfare and local government salary payments.

They also dismissed any parallel structures within the party, asserting that Bisi remains the authentic chairman of the PDP in Osun State. The communiqué urged residents to maintain peace and abide by the law, emphasizing the need for unity within the party and the state.
