Six Osun Reps Defect to Accord Party Ahead of Election

On Monday, six members of the Osun State House of Representatives announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party during a stakeholders' meeting held in Osogbo. The defectors, including Boluwaduro Ifedayo, Clement Akanni, Mahruf Adewale, Bamidel Salam, Soji Adetunji, Mudashiru Lukman Alani, Lanr Oladebo, and Irewol Isokan, expressed their commitment to supporting Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15.

Akanni, speaking on behalf of the defectors, predicted a landslide victory for Adeleke and urged party members to vote en masse while ensuring a transparent voting process. He emphasized that they aim for 80% of the votes to go to Adeleke's party, with only 20% for the opposition.

The event was attended by significant party figures, including former Deputy Speaker Lasun Yusuf, who called for dedicated support to ensure victory in the forthcoming election.
