PDP Lawmakers Endorse Adeleke for Osun Gubernatorial Race

In a significant political move, lawmakers from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have unanimously endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term as he seeks re-election under the Accord Party, following his defection from PDP on December 9, 2025. This endorsement was announced during a stakeholders' meeting held in Osogbo, the state capital, where the lawmakers issued a communiqué read by Deputy Senate Minority Leader Lere Oyewumi.

They cited Adeleke's performance in key sectors as a reason for their support. The communiqué also emphasized the need for political realignment that would not weaken the PDP's structural support base in the state.

Additionally, the lawmakers called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing local government crisis, which has led to withheld allocations and hardship for teachers, nurses, healthcare workers, and local government employees. They urged residents of Osun State to maintain peace and uphold democratic values ahead of the upcoming elections.
